Kristen, Sick chickens are in distress and should be given treatment. There are forms of canker that are non pathogenic and do not kill the birds or make them sick. You have had sick birds for a while, (past posts). We are guessing a diagnosis based on your chicken's symptoms while they suffer their air sacks filling with fluids and other serious symptoms of illness and discomfort.

Thanks Cathryn!
Could it be possible a chicken can live w/ canker for months or years and it causes no death, just respiratory symptoms or crop problems here and there? I will get a good look tomorrow inside those beaks but I know the old gal may just have canker in her crop.
