I looked in almost every chicken's mouth today and they all look basically the same, light colored up top w/ gill like looking ridges. Except the roo who has a teeny bit of darkness to his ridges and perhaps crusty looking crud on the top of his mouth, but it's very little and I do remember noticing that a year or so ago, so that's how his mouth has always looked. He was not very tolerant of me looking and I had the hardest time with him. hmmmm.....
