Was sitting there watching the chickens and suddenly thought there must be a Yahoo group for chickens. I tried backyardchickens.com, but prefer getting and reading stuff via email. Hence, I did a quick search and joined. Have had chickens now for several months in my backyard here in Des Moines, IA. The older chickens free range in a 30x30 foot fenced in yard section that I water often to keep the grass growing. There were 3 hens and a rooster in there, but today added 2 more hens. The 2 new ones were in a separate pen next to the others for a month or so, so were already pretty used to each other.
