Shannon, I used foil because I figured it would not react with the water I had to add during hatch.  If I had to pull the turner out to clean or anything the foil could be folded up and tossed and new put down. (One must be prepared for emergencies- I dropped an egg once when candling. Ugh!)  You should have heard my students. "You killed Harry. No it was Bob." ET... They teasing, yet horrified, and laughing.  Thank heavens the egg was not fertile!

Cathryn , you need to start a listing of things you do and why you do them that way (don't do a book as some of us might not live long enough to see it)lol . Seriously think about this , i'd like to know more about you using foil to line incubator amongst many other things .
