Welcome, Paula!
I am new too! Obvioslouly I seem to be doing everything 'wrong' so I won't try to answer your questions! I may not be following all the 'rules', but I seem to have a new flock of happy, healthy birds which are my pride and joy! I have 10 Production Red hens that are just 3 mos old and 19 various varieties that are just 2 mos. old. All are now outside and seem to be loving it! We are now getting 2 eggs each day and are anxiously awaiting many more!!
Enjoy your birds!!

I am new to the group and new to chickens. We have a 5 month old comet who is outside in the coop and we have 4 chicks (2 RI Reds, 1 Cinnamon Queen comet, and on black orpington. I have the chicks inside under a heat lamp. Two of the chicks are less than a week old and the other two are about 2 weeks old. How long do I keep them under the heat lamp? When do I put them out in the coop? I am sure I will have more questions but for now that is it. Thank you in advance for your help.
Paula
