Re: [CHICKENS-101] Marlene--Livestock Guard Dogs

What about Llamas?  I just read a book about llamas and they can be trained to be guardians.  People who use them say that they are great  guards and easily threaten a predator.  They can also be housed with their charges and they forage on their own.  Perhaps llamas are only used with larger animals like sheep and goats.  But maybe a llama would be good with chickens.  Anyone know about this?  Just curious.

I would like to get a livestock guard dog. I see under your signature you raise Anatolians.

What breeds make good livestock guard dogs?

How old do you get a puppy? Can it be a house dog/livestock guard dog?
