OK, I have had chickens off and on for the last 40 years, but I have never had chicks before, my wife bought me a $100 gift cert at the local feed store and a sack of 'chick scratch' for Christmas.
Well that is what I have been feeding them for the last 3 weeks, and wondering why they are still so small, well I went into the feed store today and the guy said I should be feeding them something different.
I didn't think he was trying to take me, as it was on 50¢ more.
He said the scratch is more like a treat and they wouldn't grow properly on it.
Can you chick experts please shed some light, and maybe also on other areas I may be overlooking.
Thanks
BTW
they are all Rhode Island Reds.
Cheers
