Re: [CHICKENS-101] Suggestions

We leveled a few pens and put rock dust down and then #64 gravel on top.  I would prefer pea gravel, but it is too pricey for the amount I need.  This gravel is working...water drains and no mud!

PS- In a pinch, half dollar size wood chips work, but are temporary.  The wood breaks down with time.

Any sugguestions on how to keep the ground dry? I have silkies and cochins and they are a horrible mess right now because of this crazy weather. So I'm wondering if there's anything that will help with the ground being soo wet, I'm gonna put straw down again but it seems like the straw is doing more harm then good because it's seems like it's holding the water if anything. Any other suggestions on how I can get the coops ground dry instead of looking like a Huge mud puddle?
