We give our chickens grass freshly mowed, and our neighbors on both sides share also.

I haven't heard about mowed grass before, but a neighbor told me instead of trashing the weeds, to give them to the chickens. So I did. Yanked the weeds out and gave them to the chickens roots, dirt and all. The 3 ladies love them. Then they peck the dirt to smithereens.
