RE: [CHICKENS-101] Re: PC and all that nonsence........was Adios

Oh, Ol’George---you cracked the door open and I am inserting my proverbial foot!  You mentioned The Bard and I have to send a brag.  NO, not chicken related, just related to me, who happens to love chickens.

Our 18 year old son is a Freshman in college this year.  A somewhat small (5000) Liberal Arts college that was originally established as a two year community college to feed into The College of William and Mary.  It is a four year university, now.

Our son is majoring in Theatre and Language and will minor in Leadership.  He has always been an Honor student and actually graduated from HS with 24 college credits transferred to his college records by way of AP Test scores and Dual Enrollment classes taken in HS.  I am very proud and I hope my being proud doesn’t sound too bad and braggy….but I have to grab the things I can be proud of and FLY with them. (no clipped wings, please!)

He was in HS Theatre for four years and has acted in quite a few of Shakespeare’s plays.  NOW, in his first semester in college, he auditioned for Macbeth……..and lo and behold, was cast as MACBETH.

We are driving down this Friday night to see his performance.  Really looking forward to it.  And, btw, I have trouble with the old English and Shakespeare, too.  I just borrow books from the Library and Cliff notes.  They explain it all very nicely!    Between Hamlet, Antigone, and Macbeth………..good golly that man needed some antidepressants.  One year, my son was killed off at least three times!

This is the problem with communicating over the internet. The youngsters have grammatical rules and codes that covey their feeling and emotions. You really can't do that in Standard English without writing half a book. They have essentially invented a new languish
It I could write like Shakespear I might pull it off,..hmmm..come to think of it that wouldn't work. I can't understand him either.
