Re: [CHICKENS-101] Really?

Laura, I answered Dean's post and posted that Old George is a dearly beloved ancient member, et...But then again you have to look at that Dean and I both show.  George keeps commenting demeaning comment on show people in an unfavorable and demeaning manner. I am a show breeder.  I care and I work hard at what I do, my birds win because they are quality.  I also share my silkies with others often at my own cost and to  be spoken about in such a way is upsetting, I can see why Dean responded the way he did.  Respect works both ways.
I am fine until my friends and me are jumped and I am tired of it too.  It has went on since she has joined and I agree it is tiresome.  I get on to have fun after being with difficult but adorable youth all day.  I enjoy Dean's and the Prof's posts.  I enjoy George's posts too  and so far to date have worked hard, very hard to ignore most of the negative comments on people who love the breed they show and work hard at promoting and preserving quality birds to the standard in their breeds. It's a two way street of respect.  I took a lot of garbage before I became vocal and have even been staying off because it's not fun anymore when certain people on the group are attacking me and or giving advice that will KILL people's chickens, not help them.
Maybe I will just go on to other groups I've found that are active and don't allow the nastiness, the constant jabs, in the beginning that should have been stopped immediately, that is making me upset and that I can no longer be quiet about.  I'll tell you this fact for sure, even if I leave this group, Sue's jabs to others won't stop, she'll just pick another target.

I believe Dean's long winded post was demeaning to George and Sue's response was defensive on George's behalf.  I don't know if you read the posts out of order, Cathryn, but you have to agree that Dean's first paragraph was insulting.  As to the length……….as others have said, we can read or delete.  I admit I rarely read the whole post………not because it isn't informative……….just not interesting to me.  But, I don't deny him the right to post it.

I have also noticed that Cathryn and Sue butt heads very frequently.  Obviously, both are very knowledgeable about many subjects and for some reason, really rub each other the wrong way.  When it happens too often, I lose sight of all their knowledge and just consider their behavior to each other as catty.  Seems someone is always in a snit.

I have found myself deleting an awful lot when these petty disagreements crop up.  I appreciate the shared knowledge of both, but the pettiness shown to each other gets old.

            Just sayin.

1st

Dean has been a little long winded of late. Makes me chuckle a bit sometimes, but we do all have our passions. Mine is Quilting, creating art, memories and warming souls. I can tell you more about the art and craft of quiltmaking from the 1500's to the present then probably anyone you know. And make it interesting. Apparently Dean can too, about chickens.

We all have our spats but most of us have the curtouesy to keep it private. Tho some might find it cute, it's not what I spend my time reading this list for. I have learned enormously from all of you. And I am grateful. I can ask questions and get a ton of view points. I love options!
What I don't like are the public spats. Cathryn and Sue, please take it private.

Thanks,
I will try hard not to grumble again.
