[CHICKENS-101] Re: PEEPS ARE HERE!

So sad. One of the sussex chicks died in the night. Everyone seemed fine when I went to bed about 1, but this am at 6:30 there was bad news in the box. However, crooked neck is hanging in there for now. And after doing some research I'm pretty sure our exotic is a golden polish.

My roommate is back now and so they will have more constant attention. Praying we don't lose anymore.

They're just so darn cute!

Had a about 20 min to watch them dash back & forth around the trough, tripping themselves and each other. While a few seem very small, overall they seemed to be okay. I had to run out to give a massage at 9 when I got back I see one is holding her little head funny. Sideways, almost upside down. Called my local feed supply (where we get all our stuff and started to order chicks from) and was told to put sugar (1tbs/gal) in the water for her. Did that. My roomy, who has raised loads and loads of chicks doesn't usually do anything like that, so I don't have anything else on hand other than sugar. Fortunately, she'll be back this afternoon.
