Hi Jenny, I'll make you a deal, I'll hand pluck my chicken's dry feathers and save them for you. But you are the one who will have to put them in king size pillow cases, and wash and dry them. (If you are planning on washing them.) The chickens do not look dirty, but I couldn't imagine using them with out washing them first. For school I put mine in two pillow cases that are rubber banded and tied shut with several safety pins holding the ribbon in place. (I have had the ties fall off.) Then I dried them in the dryer with dryer balls in the dryer too. Most turned out nice. Please let me know if you'd like me to do this for you. Cathryn
