Re: [CHICKENS-101] Cathryns loving parents

Jane, Wheat grass juice has 147 grams of potassium.  May not be allowed by her Dr.   Potassium in foods has to be carefully watched.
At least it is low in phosphorus.  Phosphorus is easily handled because she can take a tums or the granulated med that binds it so it is not available to go thru the kidneys. Potassium has to be kept low in the foods she consumes so her remaining kidney does not fail. :( Cathryn

Hi Cath, so sorry to hear of what your dad has been put through, it's terrible when you hear of the bad doctors & what problems they cause for people themselves & those who are left caring for them.
Your dads kidneys are a prob my dh's mum has to cope with( caused by different reasons) but one is completely shriveled & the other only works about 50 / 60 % if I remember rightly.
She also caught a stomach bug 6 years ago when she had a stent put in her heart, which has triggered diverticulitis (don't know if that is how you spell it)
So she can't eat so many different types of food it is amazing she can eat at all.
It is crazy when we chat to her about foods cos of what she can & can not eat.
My dh took some wheat grass juice round to her to try, it is supposed to help allsorts of illnesses & I think he is hoping it might help her kidneys.
The testimonials he has listened to on the internet of different peoples illness it has helped & cured is incredible.
I tried it but it tastes like my compost bin smells! It is vile: ((  lol Jane & co
