Wow, I wish I could come and get some! I could never kill a toad, or any other wild critter. Well, that copperhead that came around didn't fare very wel so I guess I have limits. I wonder if PetSmart carries toads? Guess I should have checked when I was in town this morning.

Georgia, I wish I could send you some of my toads! We get hundreds of them in the summer, all summer. In most parts of southern Arizona, you only get them during monsoon season, which is mostly July and August, because of the heavy rains. But I am surrounded by agriculture, which includes lots of irrigation, so the toads will be coming out any day now. It would be OK if it was just the little Western toads and Spadefoot toads, but we get tons of the giant Colorado River Toads and they are deadly poisonous if the dogs get them, and two of my dogs want to get them! Last summer I went "toad hunting" almost every night, collected them in a hamper, and released them in a wild area far from any houses. My mother thought I should just kill them, but I'm a huge softie and couldn't do it. I got as many as 8-10 toads per night.
