Re: [CHICKENS-101] nipple waterers & oxine

They are EASY.  Take a nipple waterer, if it's a push in type, push it through the bottom of a soda bottle or milk carton, hang it up, tap it a few times and check it every few days.  If it's a screw in type, drill an appropriately sized hole in the bottom of a bucket, screw it in (I used teflon tape on the threads just in case), hang it up, fill it up, tap it a few times so the birds get annoyed and peck at it and check it every few days :-)

NONE of my birds had  problem learning to use it, even my sweet Silkies :-)  I love the clean, fresh water, no poop, no dirt, no dirt, it's awesome!  I did put lids on all of my buckets, but made sure to drill a few vent holes in the top to prevent a vacuum :-)

I'd to learn how to make nipple water dishes and see if it is hard to teach my silkies to use them.  I am all ears and open to advice and how toos.    Cathryn

I'll try to remember to take pictures tonight...or maybe I'll snag one off of BYC :-)
