[CHICKENS-101] Re: guinea hens

Dear Janice,

Oh, dear!

Thanks for the warning on the guineas.  We will do some more research.  How many guineas did you have?  Our neighbors have 3 and when they come to visit they are loud but other than that don't pose a problem.  Course, maybe we would get very tired of it all the time!

Anybody else what to share guinea hen stories good or bad?

Something to think about!

Hi Britta,

I thought that I would love guineas, so I split and order with a neighbor. I had chickens for years, so thought that the exotic look of guineas and some of the claims would make them a perfect addition. NOT! It is very quiet where I live and guineas are not quiet. Half of my flock would be on top of the chicken barn and half on the ground they would scream at each other. I gave my half to the neighbor who had the other half. She was fine for about a week. Then I heard that her husband went out and shot them all. They went to our Vietnamese neighbor and became egg rolls.
