Re: [CHICKENS-101] Lesson # 25

Sure, why not?

When the world crumbles around you and troubles fill your head, there is nothing like the safety, and comfort of your bed!

I am sure glad those laws are patient because I am really tired of all of them.

Re: [CHICKENS-101] Re: scaley leg mites

Mahahahaha, *I* could use that.  I have 'scaly legs' big time!  Seriously!

I wonder why it appears to only be available in the UK.  I would think a firm here would import it for resale.

Kathy,

I bought "Just For Scaley Legs" on the Internet.  It comes from the UK & is not cheap to have shipped, however after only spraying their legs/feet ONCE (and sometimes even not holding the bird as it comes with a spray nozzle & says it is safe to do this way)... Scaley Leg Mites appear to be gone!!

I also bought Poultry Protector & have been liberally spraying that around their Coops, yards, etc.  I haven't seen any type of creepy crawly on my chickens or around them since.  :)

Re: [CHICKENS-101] Re: Please help this idiot with heating!

I rented a car carrier along with a moving truck from U Haul and before we even got on the road we realized that the trailer had a wheel with messed up bearings. We had to leave that day and they said "sorry, it is Saturday and we are now closed" We had to drive the car instead, from Seattle to Phoenix and when we refused to pay they put us in collection. The collection guy actually threatened to mess up all my CC and bank accounts if I didn't pay and I found a law on the internet that clearly states it is illegal to threaten someone that way. I never paid and after I told the guy about the law he never called back. ( After calling every day for a month)

Of course then when I came back from AZ I hired American van lines to move me and they brought my stuff OK, but they ran off with several of my boxes with my expensive resin castings and art supplies. Couldn't claim it because they moved me in so fast that I didn't check off each box before they left.

Re: [CHICKENS-101] Food in Barrels

Fore sure.  If I used barrels I'd have to weegie the 50# bags out of the car and into the barrels.  Then scoop it into buckets to feed.  By letting iit pour directly into the buckets from the back of the car, I've saved a lot of work.  My car windows are all 'Florida tinted' (illegal in AL) so nobody knows I'm running around with bags of chicken feed in the back of my car.

its so much easier for me. i have to walk all the way to the back of the property which is over an acre walk and the buckets make it easier.

Re: [CHICKENS-101] Poultry Lighting

The wind has been blowing all day and is HOT.  Warm wind is scary, and it's already dark, at 3:30 pm.  Chickens are ok but I have to go feed the skunks.  In the rain.

I'm in Oklahoma. I want a Chicken with a BuckedBeak, limps and is an
Alcoholic to make the grade. Yeah, and instead of crowing it wakes
everyone up with "Shore got a purty mouth, Shore got a purty mouth". But
then again, even if it stuttered and it's dentures fell halfway out, I'd
accept that to.
