Re: [CHICKENS-101] New member

Can't you just crack the eggs into boiling water? Same effect of cooked egg in boiling water without the grease. Just a thought.

Just signed up for your group, wanted to introduce myself. Been a long time poultry fan, used to have about everything, chickens, ducks, geese turkeys, all that, but the past 20 years the dogs have pretty much taken over and taken up all my time and energy, and it seems I have forgotten 1/2 of everything I ever knew about chickens. Hopefully reading here will bring it back.

My chicks hatched out this weekend, ended up with about a 30% hatch rate from my incubator, don't know if this is good bad or average. We bought baby chicks last year, they have done really well, getting more eggs than I can even start to keep up with.

My question for this time is this. I know that mashed up boiled eggs make a good supplement feed for baby chicks. Was wondering if it would be ok for them to just fry them and chop them up? I HATE peeling boiled eggs. Would the frying oil have any ill effects on them?
