Strange... my reply got lost somehow...
But I think the person you spoke to has the math wrong
.7 x 3 = 2.1 so you have a good argument for two chickens... which is good because one chicken would surely be lonely
And if you kept one chick to fill in for the half chicken, you have to give it up anyway as soon as it grew.
