Re: [CHICKENS-101] Hello

Wow. Denise, how do you manage that? Leaving an area like this for all that wind and rain?  Randy wants to move north from here so badly, but about as far "North" as I think I could handle would be Northern Calif. or southern Oregon. They are building a super Wal-Mart less then a mile from our peaceful little farm and it's breaking my heart in half. But we have horses, so I don't want to live where it's cold and windy and rainy all the time...plus we are getting older and we need to stay warm! We actually looked at properties in Redding and in southern Oregon....what a joke. You could get a nice little house with a couple acres in the Redding area for what you'd have to pay for a run down singlewide house trailer on the side of a rocky cliff in Oregon. We were surprised about that!

Deb, I was born in Atascadero. Moved to Paso Robles when I was in 8th grade. Just left California two years ago. Ended up in North Eastern Washington. It was the only place that had what we wanted at the price we could barely afford. :-)

Hey, where abouts are you in Central California?  I'm in Atascadero, which is near Paso Robles.  That is wonderful you can have chickens! Yes, you will definitely learn alot here, and welcome to the group! Send some pictures of your chickens and maybe someone can identify them for you!
