Elizabeth,
sorry to hear about your friend's husband being ill. Hope he gets
better soon. I have one of Cathryn's Silkies, and Cathryn's Silkie was
Best of Show in 2006 (?? Cath, is that correct??) and she (Pouf) is done
with being a foster mamma, although Milkweed does pretty good as a
foster parent. We like the old girl (Ms. Pouf de la Poof), and she will
be glad when I get the last of this years' pullets outside.
Milkweed is a TSC purchase that has five toes and featherless legs, but
he is great for fostering chicks, and I hope to transfer him, Pouf and
my Serama family of five into a bigger cage, where they can all pile up
together when it gets cold, or should we have another spell where the
all the furnace can do is to keep at 56 degrees. Our last winter was
brutal, to say the least.
Hope things go better for you and your hubby health-wise.
