Re: [CHICKENS-101] Re: Heat affecting fertility rates?

Cold fresh water in a no sun corner of the coop, 2+ times a day when very hot, with poultry vitamins, no grain, a bit of animal protein from organic cat food or puppy kibble to go with layer, forage or add to pens, shade, fans if needed, and they should lay again fine.  My white rocks are laying 5 when it is hot out and all lay on cooler days.  The heat hasn't affected my silkies, a good 50-80 eggs a day.  The darn hens and pullets with their cockerels and roosters help, work hard to hide them from me. Even found eggs under a rooster who was helping his girls hide eggs.

I'm pretty new to raising backyard chickens. My chickens stopped laying eggs here in Penna. for about a week now, it's been really hot, in the 80's with high humidity. This didn't happen last year. Don't know what to do.
