Found 1 hen gone and 1 scalped this morning.
I'm thinking coons. They are doing alot of new housing around here so our critter problem has increased.
I brought Annie in this morning and put Blue Kote on her. It looks like her head is her only injury. We had to leave, so I covered her with a towel to keep her from going shocky.
She is actually up on her feet now.
She has drank some water.
Question: how do I treat her head? From the neck up to the start of her beak is nothing but skin. I can't tell at this point if she even still has her eyes. One side she does blink.
At the moment I have Duramycin, anti bacterial cream, bag balm and I bought some liquid vitamin B. I will be going to the pharmacy tomorrow.
This is the first time I've had this happen.
The other hen was just feathers here and there. The roo that was with them lost a few tail feathers but other wise seems fine. Of course this has to happen now. We will have the new house finished this weekend and were moving them and my pullets/cockerels into the new digs this weekend.
I'm just sick about this. Then hen I lost was the last of my original flock.
