[CHICKENS-101] Re: Question

Hi, I am in N.E. PA and last winter was brutal.  I had a heat lamp in the coop at night and for the first part of the morning, and the water would freeze.   Each coop had a one gallon waterer, as there are 7 hens and 1 Roo per coop, the coops are 6x8. I hadn't place the water directly under the heat lamp since I was afraid that the hens would get burned if they got too close, I have Buff Orps and they are large and fluffy,.

I have been thinking about a better way for this coming winter also and couldn't come up with anything that didn't cost an arm and a leg, so if anyone has any economical ideas it would be appreciated.
thanks,
Noemi
