I've saved the plans for the fed bag totes, too--along with some bags from the hunt kennels. Like you, I never have enough tote bags!!

The plastic feed bags (as well as the plastic bags the pelleted bedding comes in) do make wonderful trash bags. No way the contents will tear through those. We use some contractor bags for the bulky soiled bedding that I bring home from the kennels (I compost it in my manure pile rather than let them send it to a landfill!) but the plastic feed bags also do well. And are a lot easier to carry than a full contractor bag...

The paper feed bags are what I use for storing the dry lawn clippings for the chickens' bedding, and the shredded leaves that go into the composting toilet.

Haven't bought a trash bag in years...
