Re: [CHICKENS-101] Chicken Lights

If the lights work after a year... I have not had much luck with solar lighting.
How about sky lights and over head yellow  lights on a timer?
I have 6 huge skylights (changed from 9 smaller to 6 large new).  We installed the metal encased wiring, overhead lights and wall plugs, each barn has it's own circuit box, with buried cables to the barns. A lot of work, but worth it.

It just occurred to me that I have an easy solution to chicken coop lights at hand, but never tried it. How much light at night is a bad thing? How much light do they need.

My new idea is to drill some 3+ inch holes in the south facing roof and drop in solar rechargeable yard pathway type lights. They would charge all day and light all night.
