That is what I am wondering: would the 'sawdust' be better/another option because my Ladies seem to just love throwing those pine shavings on the floor!! LOL!

We couldn't use the pine flakes because with the flapping of the pigeons wings they would wind up piled in the corners. A lot of breeders used the deep litter system and swear by it.Dale
