I was told and have read the oyster shells should never be added to the feed. I have mine in a sep bowl that they can eat when they want to.

Hi, I add oyster shell each day to the feed, and have some available in the shed for the hens.
I purchased a bag of Dumor Feed, never fed it before, I have always fed, Nutrena, and Nutrena Feather Fixer this year to the moulting hens, what a difference it made, also, there is a grain mill in the next Town,Taunton, that manufactures its own feeds, I prefer their chicken feed as it contains alfalfa meal.
