[CHICKENS-101] Re: Over run with deer

Unless you want to fence around each one of them with tall enough fencing that they can't reach their necks up over, the next best thing would be to hand bars of soap in them all & around the veggie garden.  That works better than any other purchased deer-chaser substance available, easier & faster than the mentioned border of plants ('tho I'm not entirely sure what kind of plants keep deer away) – I can personally attest to it for a number of years now.
You do not need bath size soap bars – those little hotel size ones work great.  Just drill a hole through them 1/2 to 3/4 inch down, loop a string through it, and hang it on a branch of a tree or shrub or whatever.  ONE works for trees that're only a few feet in circumference, try 2 or maybe 3 for older larger full-size trees & shrubs.  Every few feet – maybe 4 or 5 or so – around your veggie garden.......that one you'll have to play with, have never had deer bother my veggies.
Or you could try stringing a "fenceline" of them along the side/sides of your property they're coming in from.......

Seems like someone once told me to plant a border of plants they don't like
around your yard and they would be less likely to come in. I don't remember
what plants they suggested though.
