In the 8 years I've had chickens I saw only one mouse. I keep the feed in rubber containers, have a cat in the house that will get any mice and the chickens will pretty much chase anything small like a mouse. I cannot stand a certain type of spider that is very common here. I've managed to be able to keep my chickens and mini horses without being too freaked out by them. It can be done!
