Anita--have you tried making a trap? If they are some sort of fruit flies, they'll go for this. Take a jar and put a little apple cider vinegar in the bottom--a half-inch or so should be plenty. With a rubber band, fasten a piece of plastic wrap over the mouth of the jar, not drum-head tight but rather a little "loose." Punch a small hole in the plastic wrap. Anything attracted to fruit will crawl in through the hole, but can't generally get out. I have to keep one of these traps on my kitchen counter all summer... But then my fruit flies are long gone!
