Would an aquarium heater clipped on the side work? Remember I'm from sunny California so don't laugh if that's a stupid suggestion.

I suppose there might be a submersible heater (like the ones you can stick into a mug) that would be safe to use. .
Actually, though, after going to the trouble of making one, I simply could not get any of mine to use it. Slow learners, I guess. Or just "dumb clucks!" I even tried jury-rigging one of the nipples so it had a drip, and even put away their regular waterer until I got worried about their not drinking.. Anyone have ideas on that? I'd still like to be able to use the nipple bucket.
