BUT Raccoons and possums are MUCH larger than a chicken! How do the folks who eat their chickens do it? Certainly not with dry ice! I tried to make my barn as varmint proof as I could and in 12 years I have not had anything bigger than a chipmunk in there. We had a whole family of foxes living under the barn next door which is only about 70 feet from mine and a litter of 7 coyote pups about 50 yards back! Too cute! What we did was clear all the brush and trimmed the pines up about 6 feet to discourage them . I love seeing the wildlife! We saw a very large coyote a few days ago while walking . It was quite a distance from the barn. We even followed it for a while-until it went through some thorn trees!
