Chickens aren't entirely stupid. If she's cold, she'll go in and sit on the floor. If that's not a secure location outside, just go out after dark, grab the legs, tuck her under your arm, talk to her, explain, and put her inside. If you do it every night for 3 or more nights in a row, she'll go in herself.

I don't know if she felt safe. She's the oldest bird. I noticed she's the last to eat. Whenever I toss something in, she stays back. I haven't seen any of them peck her. I put her in the coop and there were two empty nesting boxes with a lot of straw. The others roost when the weather is warmer. She's the last holdout. We have a small coop with nesting boxes. This is attached to a larger pen that I can walk into. This larger pen has the roosts. She sits on the highest perch. I thought this had something to do with pecking order. She being the "matron".
