Thank you for purchasing Whitmore Farm chicks in the past or signing up for our email list.

It's that time of year again.  Next week we will be firing up the incubators and start setting eggs for the spring hatching season.  It warms me up just to think about it as I sit here in the middle of our second Polar Vortex of the winter.

We have a new egg color to offer our customers this year!  We have done some experimenting and discovered that when you cross our Marans which lay a very dark brown egg with our Ameracuana which lay a dark blue egg, you get offspring which lay a really pretty, dark olive egg.  Olive Eggers or Avacado Eggers, as people like to call them, are not uncommon.  But what is uncommon is to find this cross using bloodlines that have been specifically selected for very dark, saturated egg color.  The resulting dark olive egg color is really vibrant and much prettier than the pale olive eggs you get from crosses with run of the mill bloodlines.  Check out the photos and description on our website:  www.whitmorefarm.com/olive-eggers.

We have already received a number of orders for spring.  So get your order in early.  We fill orders in the order they are received.  By the time spring is officially here, we already have a significant waiting list.
