I have read about the 25 hour cycle. A much older gardener told me that eggs would be laid by 11 a.m. This is not true. My hens have laid eggs as late as 4 p.m. I think the 25 hour cycle explains why the different times of day. Otherwise, why not in the a.m.
The not eating fertilized eggs I have not heard of. People say all sorts of things. I've heard they lay better when a rooster is around. Also not true (my opinion).
