Hawks and eagles abound here, eagles nest on a close by lake and even visit our pond. The river running along the back of our property and the pond, the huge old maple, ash, and mulberry trees seem to attract more than our share of every size hawk.

I free range my chickens during the day. I'd really hate to have to keep them in a pen. I just started using an old coop that was on the property. It is not going to be my permanent coop. Will a hawk take a full grown hen? They look bigger than that hawk was.
