[CHICKENS-101] First egg a real Killer!

I have some gorgeous Lavender Orpingtons that I sent all over the country to get eggs from. Some were not worth keeping but after four years of hatching and breeding, finally got the big round ones I have been dreaming of!                                   One day last week found a 6 month old pullet dead under the roost in the morning.in the new chicken coop we had just completed....huummmm...all were very well fed and healthy so I thought I should openerup and take a look!                         I cut in beside the breast and opened it and saw yellow fluid around her intestines. I reached in and grabbed a hand full but felt a crunching, crackling as my fingers slid in.When I pulled it out found an absolutely HUGE egg that had been crushed but inside it, there was a smaller pullet egg.  I am sad to lose this gorgeous girl, but at least know what the cause was.So sorry for all of the pain and suffering she had to have gone through....sure wish the could tell me about their pain!
