My white rock and cornish x cross hens are all broody and sitting on eggs right now!~ Brats! I took all of my silkie's eggs because we cleaned the main barn.

Actually-----Sept. 20 is the autumn equinox, isn't it? more or less? And
day length is about the same as the spring equinox. I've seen hens want to
set in the fall before. Doesn't work in this climate, NYS, unless they're
indoors and heated.
(Sigh) Except for Silkies. I've had Silky hens hatch and raise a few chicks
successfully in the late fall, outdoors, no heat. Somehow.
