You might be able to just wait a few days. It does dissipate eventually. Free roaming chickens will pretty much clean themselves against the greenery.
The dog wash formula is hydrogen peroxide and I think it's baking soda. Look that one up for the proportions.
You might also try Febreeze, the smell killer. Comes in spray bottles. Don't get the strong kind, I have a bottle of that, it's scented with something, I don't like it.
The "traditional" method is tomato juice, but I never could see that it did anything much other than make a worse mess.
Now---the most important thing----set a trap!! Right where he got in. The next skunk WILL be along---tonight! They come in families, and have found a food source, dog or not. Use a live trap, a Havahart, not a leg trap, and keep the dog away----waaay away----so as not to alarm the critter. Cover just the top with a good dark cloth, draped over the sides. Leave the ends open so he can get in. Come morning, drop the cover over the ends and skunk will probably just be sleeping.
Meanwhile-----figure out what you're going to do with it. Drown it, shoot it, relocate it, something. And reset the trap again the next few nights, there are apt to be more of them. If it's sleeping in the trap, you can usually get away with shooting it right there without him spraying. Or cover it with plastic first.
Mostly they're pretty peaceable unless they get scared.
Just for comic relief------my husband's grandmother was the village "doctor", and her sons used to catch skunks for the scent glands, and also sold the fur. She got the stuff out for serious sinus infections, especially in babies-----this was before modern medicine you understand. It WILL open your sinuses------as you already found out.

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Re: Skunk!!!
Ok, not the best idea, but my dear hubby heard some noise in the middle of the night at the chicken coop. Some how a STUPID skunk got in and killed a 3 month old. Hubby opened the door - first mistake. Second mistake - he should have just opened the door and left it propped open and walked away until the skunk left. Third mistake and BIGGEST MISTAKE: SHOT THE SKUNK. Everything, and I mean Everything GOT SPRAYED. Hubby stank so bad he almost got relegated to sleeping with the dogs outside.
Now to deal with it this morning. I know we have to remove everything from the coop. Bare wood: how and what do we scrub everything down with? I washed hubby in Technu and it worked great. Will be burning his pants though. Do we have to wash each chicken or will this ever go away. And here's the clincher: they free roam. Told him I would shoot any of them that came to the house - which they all do. Do NOT know what to do.
Yee gads. What a situation.
