Awesome that your daughter has a bond with a chicken, and that it's a chicken that sounds like it could use a little love. :) I hope that she has a long life as well. Though slow moulters are a challenge.

I have a astrolorp hen who is broody 90% of the time in nice weather. She is useless...looks horrible as neck feathers are all gone. ( she did this last summer too) her saving grace is she is my daughters pet...friend. She is autistic and sits holding this girl talking to her. As ugly as she is she will have a long life here I hope. Now there is a couple others that are on the short due to attitudes and only occ laying. Lori. IN
