Bless you, but what is an "egg skelter"? Sounds like an excellent idea to dry out egg shells, crumble them and add to the cluckers' feed, but, again, what is an egg skelter?

My solution is to keep a jar that we put shells in. When the jar fills up I lay them out on a pan and put them in the oven after baking something while the oven cools. When they are 100% cool to the touch they practically crumble in our hands. We then crush them up and put them in a large jar to be mixed in with the usual oyster shell and what not. Chickens have no idea they were eggs.
As for the labelling question, I bought my wife an egg skelter as a present. She loves seeing the eggs every day and it is a simple take from the front and add to the back queue.
