To determine if they are homozygous for the barring gene (carry 2 copies). I've heard that if a barred roo x a black hen produces 100% barred, the roo is homozygous, since hens can only carry one copy of the barring gene. Can you tell me more? Thanks, Patrick in Lexington Kentucky
