Patrick,
It's not the 8-plug Surge strip that you need to account for, it's the electrical pull & requirements for all the things you're going to be plugging into it that'll be needed to determine how many watts of solar panels (betting multiple of them here) and size of battery or number of batteries in a bank of them will be needed.
