If they aren't using it now, put something under it like a rock or stump so they can jump up on something to get to it.

I was wondering how high off the ground the roost should be for Polish chickens who are about 5 months old.  We had it close to the ground when they were younger and then they preferred sleeping on the nesting boxes so my husband raised it up.  I'm just not sure now that it's low enough for them although he thinks it is.
