An owl can and will eat a small chicken if he can catch him. Just hang some old cd's from your coop and the reflection should scare him off.

Would an owl kill and eat a bantam chicken(fully grown)? I have an owl near my chook pen at night and the bantams are shut in their coops.Could the owl be catching the mice? (I hope so.)
