so should I supply them with a place in the coop to get away from the older hens? The plan is to move them in at night when everyone is sleeping. They have a little run with a doggie door access. I let the older hens out once they have laid into the main yard and planned on keeping the little ones in the run until they were large enough to not be able to squeeze out of the fence. Is 3 weeks to young? I have seen them run in their brooder and they seem pretty fast to me. I was thinking with the large numbers it would be harder for the older ones to single any of them out.

The best answer is, "as soon as they are fast enough to escape the attacks of the older hens". It helps if they can get into a safe place. Older hens are usually not very accepting of newcomers.
