I'd feed anything but purina or a purina also known as Land O Lakes feed.  Purina has a well earned reputation of killing people's live stock and poultry. I know, I was one of the breeders that had to start over. You cannot count on them for quality - you do then zap - dead birds. They do not keep their word and pay you for livestock and poultry even though you shell out a small fortune in feed testing and necropys.  It's like having venomous snakes in the grass, eventually you are gonna get hit.

The common rule is to feed Start & Grow formula until you see the first egg then switch to "layer feed". Most folks make the change over a couple days, using up all the starter. If you are using a medicated feed use it up or throw it out before you start eating the eggs. If you are on straight starter it is recommended you start using a "growth feed" at 6 weeks and use it until the pullets are laying. Meat birds have a completely different schedule.
I use a local feed as I can't comment on the big feed companies however Cath will really let give you her opinion.
