Make sure they are warm enough and try adding a spoonful of apple cider vinegar to the water.

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Buckeyes
Does anyone have any experience with Buckeyes from Meyer? The last time I had some, they seemed to be the first ones not to survive, and then the remaining became the hawks' favorite food. Now, I have just received three in the mail, replacing ones that died in the first shipment, and one was DOA and the other two can't stand up, barely alive. Am I wasting my time trying to make them drink warm sugar water?
